Programme for Preparation 

altThe programme of preparation for First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Reconciliation involves the home, school and parish. It is this three-fold partnership that will enable children to learn, deepen and enrich their faith and grow in a love for the body and blood of Christ.

The home is the most important element of this partnership as parents are the first and best teachers of their children. The school and parish will support and celebrate what is being taught and lived in the home.

Preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion is a very special time for children as they celebrate the second stage of their initiation into the Catholic Church. World Meeting of Families 2018

The World Meeting of Families comes to Ireland.world families logo

Dublin, Ireland, has been chosen by Pope Francis to host the next World Meeting of Families in August 2018. Started by Saint John Paul II, and held every three years, this major world event celebrates family as the cornerstone of our lives, and the fundamental building block of society and the Church.

Families and others from all over the world will gather in Dublin from 22-26 August 2018 to celebrate their lives together, to share their experiences from different parts of the world, to reflect on the different challenges they face and to grow together in faith.

The theme chosen by Pope Francis for WMOF2018 is The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World. The WMOF2018 Logo, launched in December 2016, reflects on this theme and our journey towards August 2018.

Crosscare Connections

Befriending service for older people in Dublin 15-  

Volunteers needed- please give the gift of your time

Crosscare invite people in the parish to join us for our volunteer visiting service to provide companionship for older people in Dublin 15.   A regular weekly visit can make a huge difference to reduce isolation and improve the quality of life for an older person.  

Most visits last for an hour and usually involve nothing more than a cup of tea and chat with your friend.  This simple gift, of your time and company, is all that is required.

Volunteers need be over 18 years and be willing to give at least one hour per week, ideally for at least one year.  

You will be required to fill out a garda vetting form and complete training before being introduced to an older person. The next training session will take place on 6th February.

Crosscare is offering workshops for parents who would like to communicate effectively with their children  around drug & alcohol issues.
