Easter Celebrations 2019

Palm Sunday:3cross

This day combines the commemoration of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and the proclamation of the Passion.

Palms will be blessed at the 6.00 pm Vigil Mass, 8.30 am, 10.30 am and 12 noon

There will be a procession at 10.30 and 12.00 masses starting at the front of the Pastoral Parish Centre.

Weekday Masses:

Monday and Tuesday of Holy Week: 10 am Mass 

Wednesday of Holy Week: Service of Word and Communion 10am

Holy Thursday:

The season of Lent ends on Holy Thursday and the Easter Triduum begins with the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper. The ceremony of the washing of the feet is a reminder of the example of service set by Jesus at this last meal with his disciples.

No morning mass

Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7.30 pm followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 9pm

Watch & Pray Hour 9 pm to 10 pm

Good Friday:

The main ceremony of the day is the Solemn Celebration of the Lord's Passion with the Veneration of the Cross and the reception of Holy Communion.

A day of Fast and Abstinence

Stations of the Cross for children at 12 noon

Solemn Celebration of Our Lord’s Passion and Holy Communion at 3.00 pm

Prayer around the Cross 8.00 pm

Holy Saturday:

This day is a time of waiting at the tomb, fasting and meditating. The Easter Vigil begins no earlier than sundown.

Easter Vigil 9.00 pm

Easter Sunday:

This is the day we celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord; it is the Sunday of all Sundays. We are invited to renew our Baptismal Promises on this day which also begins fifty days of Eastertide celebration that concludes on Pentecost Sunday.

Masses 8.30 am, 10.30 am and 12 noon

Easter Week:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: Mass at 10am

Wednesday:  Service of Word and Communion 10.00 am 

Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation:

Monday and Tuesday of Holy Week

after 10.00am mass.

There will be no Sacrament of Reconciliation during the

Easter Triduum  (Holy Thursday – Easter Sunday)
