Can we doubt God’s concern and compassion for people who are sick, wounded or with disability? Jesus spent much of his time healing. The faith community today can also convey God’s healing through the Sacrament of the Sick, a sacrament which should be approached in a spirit of great confidence.
The sign used in this sacrament is one of anointing with specially blessed oil. The sacrament is intended for the seriously ill and may be repeated as often as necessary. The anointing of the sick can also help those who have to face death to do so with renewed courage and confidence.
